This herbal broth blend was designed to be added to your stockpot when making veggie stock or bone broth to add a concentrated shot of nutrients as well as beneficial herbal properties and most definitely flavor.
I have added many of these herbs individually to my broths for years, and one day it finally clicked to make them into a blend to be added all at once.
This blend can be brewed on it's own to create a flavorful broth to use as a base for soups, or used to enrich storebought or homemade broth. I cannot say enough about how nutrient dense this mix is. It is such a great way to boost the bioavaliable nutritional content of foods you are already eating.
Nettle and oatstraw add iron, magnesium, calcium, vitamin A and vitamin K, to name a few.
MI Log grown shiitake add polysaccharides, antioxidants, selenium and Vitamin D, as well as a rich, deep umami flavor.
Onion and garlic provide prebiotic fiber for gut health while burdock root provides inulin, a type of fiber that is also prebiotic and gut beneficial, as well as antioxidants and B vitamins.
Calendula is rich in carotenoids and has soothing properties.
A blend of kombu and kelp provide iodine, vitamins A, C, E, K and a whole host of trace minerals.
